We are interested in any short-term or temporary opportunity to guide for outfits in the Butte – Silver Bow, Beaverhead, Anaconda – Deer Lodge, Jefferson, Madison, or Granite area/counties. We both have full-time jobs: Reyes is a warehouse operator at Montana Craft Malt and Janelle is an environmental compliance specialist for NorthWestern Energy. We have a great passion for hunting and acquired guide licenses in 2024 in order to begin gaining experience towards transitioning to a career in outfitting.

Reyes grew up with intermittent hunting experiences and frequent spinner fishing. Janelle did not grow up in a hunting culture at all, but had intermittent spinner fishing trips, and picked up fly fishing in Alaska in the summer of 2008. Both began consistently rifle hunting and raft fishing in 2014. Janelle began archery hunting in 2019 and Reyes began in 2021. In the summer of 2024, both paid out-of-pocket to attend guide school at Bridger Institute in Whitefish. Reyes took wilderness first aid and survival, camp cook, and hunting guide courses. Janelle took self-reliance, horse and mule packing, and hunting guide (which included a small section on fly fishing) courses. We also had a couple meetings with an Anaconda outfitter to get endorsements on our guide applications.

In 2023, Reyes and Janelle started a health and fitness business that we hope to expand to outdoor guiding and outfitting. Currently, Reyes instructs American Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED certification courses and Janelle provides nutrition coaching and personal training.
